APPLICATIONS OF API 5CT OCTG Casing and Tubing 
    Casing pipe is used for lining the borehole which has been dug into the ground for procuring oil or gas and stabilizing it. A casing pipe is subject to axial tensions and high internal pressures which are generated while pumping oil or gas. 

    Tubing pipe is pipe which is placed inside the wellbore through the casing pipe. It is responsible for the transportation of the hydrocarbons to the surface. Tubing pipe is used for transporting natural gas or crude oil after the drilling is complete. It transports the gas and oil to the facilities for further processing.

DESTRUCTIVE & NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING:
Hydrostatic testing 100% of pipe shall be tested. Pipe must be able to survive a hydrostatic test without leaking through the weld seam or the pipe body
NDT Weld seam of each pipe shall be tested by online Eddy Current test
Flattening Test(0 & 90 deg i) No opening of the weld before the distance between the plates specified in
above table.

 ii) No evidence of lamination or burnt metal shall develop during the flattening
 until opposite wall of the pipe meet.
Drift Test : Each length of pipe shall be drift tested throughout its entire length.
Charpy V Notch Grades H40, J55 & K55 Type 1:There is no mandatory CVN impact requirement.
